You order. Relatives record a short voice note on their phone — any language — then can add a photo. Two weeks later we print a square hardcover: their picture, a little story, and a QR that plays the original clip. Missed people still get a page. After it ships, you keep the voices and photos as files.

How it works

You pay (intro $49 + shipping). Then tell us who the book is for and who should record — 1 to 6 people.
You get a private recorder link. Copy a short message and send it to aunties, grandparents, whoever is on the list. We remind you, not them.
They have 14 days from the day you paid. iPhone: Safari. About three minutes. After the voice is saved they can add a photo, or skip.
Day 14 we lock and print what we have. The hardcover usually arrives 1–3 weeks after that. QRs keep working. You get a download of the voices and photos when we ship.

Tap the link, record, optional photo. No app. Any language they actually speak.

The deadline

14 days after you pay (Sydney time). That is when we send the book to print — not when it lands in the letterbox.

If someone misses it

We still print. That page uses our illustration and a short standby story. No QR, because there is no voice yet.

FAQ

When is the deadline?

Fourteen days from the moment you pay. We show you the exact lock date after checkout. Voices and photos in by the end of that day go in the printed book.

What if family does not send anything?

We print on time anyway. Anyone still missing gets a NectarBee picture page and a short generic story using the child’s first name. No QR on that page. Late clips can still go in your download pack if they arrive before we send it.

Can they record in another language?

Yes. Russian, Tagalog, a mix — whatever they speak. The printed page is a short English story. The QR plays the original recording.

How do they record?

You forward one private link. On iPhone they should use Safari. Tap Allow for the microphone, speak up to three minutes, listen, submit. Then they can add a photo or skip. You can still send a photo on WhatsApp.

How many people can be in the book?

1 to 6 contributors for this intro run. First name and how they are related (Tita, Babushka, …). That list is the page count.

How long until the book arrives?

Collection takes 14 days. Then we print and post. Plan on about 1–3 weeks after the lock date. We pad that so we can under-promise. You get a tracking number when it ships.

What about the files and the QR later?

When we ship you get a zip of the voices and photos (stories stay in the book). Email links last 7 days — keep the zip. Printed QRs are meant to play for about 5 years. We will remind you before they come down.
