How it works

    Pay for the book, then tell us who to feature (1–5 people).

  2. Forward the recording link

    Send Grandma the private link. She can easily press, speak, and submit — no app downloads needed.

  3. Send the photos

    Upload everyone’s photos using the private photo link.

Then we’ll take it from there and turn it into a beautiful hardcover keepsake.

FAQ / Trust

The practical bits

Can we record in a language other than English?

Yes, that’s the whole point! For the child to hear family and friends in their most natural voice, in a language they’re comfortable with.

How do the recordings become part of the story?

Recordings from family and friends are automatically translated by software so parts can be woven into your personalised story text. The QR code still plays the original recording, untouched.

When do I / contributors record?

Family has 14 days from your order to record. We show you that closing date in bold after you save Who’s in the book, and we email it. Voices and photos in by the end of that day go into the printed book.

How long can we play the QR codes?

The QR code is meant to play the original recording for about 5 years from the day we ship the book. Down the track we’ll send a Kinnectar Pack: a zip of the photos and recordings your family sent. Download it and keep it.

How do they record?

You forward one private recording link (there is a copy-paste note waiting after you save). Tap Allow for the microphone, speak up to three minutes, listen, submit. Then they can add a photo — or skip. You also get a private photo link to upload everyone’s pictures yourself.

How many people can be featured in the book?

1–5 people. We just need their first name, how they’re related, and which country they’re recording from. If you’re recording too, add your own name.

What if a contributor doesn’t send anything by the closing date?

First, we hope those golden voices get in on time. If they don’t, we still process everything we’ve received from your group, and the book still ships on the usual schedule. They get mentioned in Dino’s travel story — just not a full spread.

I’ve ordered but forgot / lost my recording link. Help?

The email with your recorder link is sent after you save Who’s in the book — that’s the page after payment, not the card screen. Check spam. If you don’t have it within 48 hours, email hello@kinnectar.com.au.

Why this book exists

Hi, I’m Danielle — mum to a beaming little boy with family spread across the globe and several languages between us. Living in Australia, I wanted him to genuinely connect with them despite the distance: to hear their voices, their tones, their joy, and learn a little about where they’re from.

So I built this book. I hope it gives your young ones and family joy, and bridges meaningful connections across distance, language, and generations.
